Halloween Styloween: Monsters' Ball
Time Out's very own Halloween bash returns on Friday October 30! We've got seven monsters roaming around Fashion Walk, ghoulish games and a variety of other hair-raising tricks and treats in store. And yes, it's all free! RSVP now at to reserve your spot and get a free Kirin beer at the event.

Annual Masked Ball
Experiments and mystery are the ingredients that make up this night. Presented by the Oriental Society for the Advancement of Obsolete Sciences, the  ball has DJs including Maft Sai serving up the beats, along with a number of highly creative cocktails. Black Voodoo Magic – Halloween Party
Don your best voodoo-inspired costume for this not-so-innocent night of black magic. The lounge is set to be decked out in all things dark and mysterious, with beats spun by French DJ Pablo Valentino. Sat Oct 31, Mahalo, QRE Plaza, Wan Chai; 8pm-4am. $250 (adv), $300 (door) inc one drink.

Celebrity Cemetery Halloween Party

Grappa’s Cellar is getting gruesome for the Panda Paddlers and Nearly Friday’s seventh annual Halloween Party! International DJs are mixing
tunes, there’s a free-flow bar and costumes for the best dressed. Best of all, all the proceeds go to the Cambodian Children’s Fund! Sat Oct 31, Grappa’s Cellar, Jardine Hse, Central; $600 (adv), $650 (door).

The Dead and Famous

Dead Not Alive
With three zones and three sets of DJs playing simultaneously, this is always one of the city’s biggest Halloween Parties. Make sure you get a stylishly spooky outfit sorted – costumes are a must! Sat Oct 31, Armani/Prive,

Dark Mirror at Lan Kwai Fong
Can’t decide where to spend the most terrifying night of the year? Then to
Lan Kwai Fong  it is! Yes, you’ll probably need to queue to even get in the vicinity, but we all love it anyway. A number of outlets are taking part throughout the week, from Post 97 to Al’s Diner. You don’t even have to prep for the evening yourself – head down to 1 Lan Kwai Fong on the 31st (from 6pm) to get your make up done professionally. Oct 22-24, Oct 29-31, Lan Kwai Fong, Central;

Ghosts of Wan Chai
Rumour has it that iconic bar and former pawn shop The Pawn has been visited by the ‘Ghostess of Wan Chai’ annually for the past 127 years. (Yeah, we never heard that rumour either, but it’s a great hook so just roll with it.) Try and catch a glimpse of her while sitting back with a creepy cocktail and listening to some of the city’s top DJs. This night is sure to send shivers down your spine. The Haunted Room Halloween Party
With four international DJs, zombie dancers and five hours of open bar, this Halloween party is not to be missed. Prizes are up for grabs, not only for the best dressed, but the best dancers, too – it’s a night full of treats, no tricks! Mrs Pound’s Disco Drag Queen

Not only will you be treated to drinks and ice luge shots at Mrs Pound, but (as the name suggests), there’s a drag queen performance, too! You’ll even be able to emulate the look, with a drag queen make-up artist on hand to give you those luscious lips and chiselled cheekbones. Live mixing courtesy of DJ Woodtek. These guys have got it all going on with magicians, acrobats and even the unabashedly un-PC ‘Dracula vs Frankenstein midget wrestling competition’, which – no surprise – promises to be HK’s first. W Hong Kong Presents: Haunted House

Zuma presents Zombie Prom

School just got scary with Zuma’s Zombie Prom! As always a King and Queen of prom must be crowned, so turn up in your creepiest of costumes to try and win the title. Don’t worry about the make up though, there’s a celebrity make up artist on hand to get you suitably scary. To raise awareness of both prostate and breast cancer, Munchies are throwing a block party to remember! A number of our favourite Sheung Wan eateries are serving drinks and food, all priced at $50. The Haunt
Settle into your seat and enjoy three classically dark pieces, written by macabre literary giants Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Dickens and Angela Carter. Adapted and performed by members of CSR Theatre Company, with interpretive dance and accompanying live rock, this evening is set to be equal parts thrill and chill. Origami Halloween
Here’s one for the kids! Simply ‘like’ the Kornhill Plaza on Facebook and the little ones can sign up to an origami workshop. The mall has been decked out in life-sized origami Halloween characters, presumably providing inspiration for the mini versions that the kids will make. Howl-o-ween Dog Walk
Forget the tricks, it’s all about the treats on this trail. Come dressed in your favourite Halloween costume and  don’t forget to dress your pooch up too! There are prizes for the best-dressed adult, child and pup – so start prepping; don’t forget the comfortable shoes though!
